Conceptual Framework
To develop an interdisciplinary infrastructure to support research in physical activity, rehabilitation, health promotion, and disability that would include professionals and students in rehabilitation, exercise physiology, nutrition, engineering, medicine, nursing, biostatistics, public health, and psychology.

- Central office and reception area

Multimedia Technology Laboratory (1500 sq. ft)
- Health promotion outreach/educational programs for a national audience
- Interactive web-based technology for tailored communication software using internet technologies in health promotion
- Video conferencing
- Courses in use of technology in health promotion, physical activity, and disability; Master’s and Ph.D. programs
- Telehealth technologies
- Establishment of web-based dynamic assessment tools
- Collection of web-based longitudinal data sets (i.e. using web-based health promotion instruments Collaboration via internet with medicine and rehabilitation

Rehabilitation Engineering Lab (3500 sq. ft)
- Designing and retrofitting exercise and recreational equipment for people with disabilities
- Product test exercise and recreational equipment for private industry regarding accessibility issues related to physical, cognitive and sensory limitations.
- Fabrication unit for retrofitting and designing existing and new equipment.
Video Production/Editing (1000 sq. ft)
- Video filming area for individual and group exercise
- Video editing equipment
- Storage area for sound, video, lighting, and exercise modalities such as stability balls, therabands, free weights, etc.
- Video library
Human Performance Laboratory and Exercise Center (2500 sq. ft)
- Exercise testing equipment (i.e., metabolic cart, isokinetic dynamometer, body composition, and other equipment to conduct research on disabled populations)
- Clinical exercise facility to conduct intervention research
