Pach

Anne Pach is the Business Manager in the Department of Disability and Human Development. She oversees the financial matters for the NCPAD, RecTech, PEP II, HEZ, and DRRP awards, including budgets, grant submission and continuation applications, purchases, subcontracts, and personnel appointments. She is the primary representative to campus units for any administrative or financial issues. Prior to joining DHD in February 2008, Anne spent two years as the Grants Manager in UIC’s Department of Medical Surgical Nursing (College of Nursing).

 

Anne has extensive accounting, treasury, and human resource experience in the profit (Ringier America, Turtle Wax, Merchandise Mart Properties) and non-profit sectors (St. Bede the Venerable Church, Mercy Home, Housing Opportunities and Maintenance for the Elderly). She holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Northeastern Illinois University in Chicago, with a double major in Computer Science and Business and Management.

In addition to her business background, Anne holds much social concerns experience.  As a hospice volunteer (Illinois Masonic Home Health and Hospice), she offered companionship and respite to terminally ill patients and their families.  As the leader of a grief support group (Young Adult Ministry of the Archdiocese of Chicago), she implemented means of outreach and assistance to young adults dealing with the death of a loved one. 

 

Anne has gone on mission trips (Muscular Dystrophy Summer Camp, Habitat for Humanity, Appalachian Exchange) living in community and interacting with people of varying cultures and abilities. She has served in several roles at her church (St. Celestine Catholic Church) including liaison to the Human Concerns Commission as a member of the Pastoral Council.

Business Manager – Maintains and monitors budgets, allocates and distributes funds through personnel appointments and supply purchases for multiple grants. Is the lead person on university and government forms required for grant application submissions and their continuation applications. Handles subcontracts in and outside the university.  Communicates with campus units regarding grant activities. 

 

Univ. of Illinois at Chicago – Medical Surgical Nursing, Chicago, IL
(February 2006 – February 2008)
Grants Manager – Managed department’s post-award financial activities.  Included purchasing, reimbursements, and subcontracts. Monitored budgets, reviewed expenditures, and reconciled grant accounts. Made budget and personnel changes as necessary. Handled award management for department fellows. Communicated with campus units regarding grant activities. 

 

Housing Opportunities and Maintenance for the Elderly, Chicago, IL
(January 2004–February 2006)
Business Manager – Responsible for human resources and financial affairs of the agency. Responsible for payroll and 403(b) contributions.  Processed health, dental, and 403(b) plan enrollments and changes.  Maintained personnel files and attendance records. Filed necessary reports to authorities. Handled accounting functions including accounts payable, cash receipts, journal entries, and bank reconciliations. Generated monthly financial reports for Board of Directors and government funders. Prepared annual budget and oversaw annual audit and other funder audits.

 

Friends of Battered Women and Their Children, Chicago, IL
(April 2003–January 2004)
Finance Manager – Handled the coordination and management of the personnel, financial, and physical resources of the agency. Maintained personnel files; responsible for payroll disbursements and employee benefit plan. Completed employment or benefits reports required by authorities. 
Performed accounting and payroll functions; prepared monthly financial reports and other funding statements. Created and maintained fiscal reports for government contractors and other funders. Assisted with annual budget preparation and funder audits. Point person for technology issues.

 

Mercy Home for Boys and Girls, Chicago, IL
(March 2001–February 2003)
Staff Writer – Responsible for correspondence written on behalf of the agency for all donor gifts and inquiries. Database management of all major gifts. Assisted Major Gifts officers and department V.P. with donor research and correspondence. Researched and wrote articles for quarterly magazine.
Operations Manager – Responsible for the day-to-day management of the caging and data entry operations. These units processed all mail donations, including opening mail, scanning reply slips, posting of items to agency database, and generating acknowledgements and other correspondence. Monitored services of outsourcing vendors. Supervised 12 caging and data entry clerks.
